Weatherford is the seat of Parker County, about 30,000 people on the west edge of the metroplex. The town built itself around the courthouse square, and the square still holds the 1886 Parker County Courthouse: Second Empire style, locally quarried limestone, designed by W.C. Dodson. Weatherford is a Texas Main Street City, and the downtown historic district around Waco, Water, Walnut, and Lee streets keeps the brick and Italianate storefronts from the ranching boom years. The Texas & Pacific Railroad came through in 1880, three blocks north of the square, and that is what turned a frontier outpost into a regional market town.

The tree work here starts with the old canopy. More than 60 Queen Anne and Victorian homes line the treed streets around downtown, and those yards hold pecans, live oaks, and cedar elms that are decades past their planting. Chandor Gardens on West Lee Street keeps live oaks, elms, and pecans inside its walled gardens, and Holland Lake Park and Clark Gardens sit on the west side near I-20. Out toward the lake, Lake Weatherford lots take wind straight off the water; the floating boardwalk there runs just under a mile, the longest in Texas. West and north of town it is Cross Timbers country: post oaks, blackjack oaks, and mesquite on thin rocky soil that does not hold water in August.

We work Weatherford from the courthouse square to the lake and out the farm roads: hazard assessments on the old downtown trees, crown thinning and deadwood cleanup on the lake lots, selective acreage work where cedar and mesquite are crowding the oaks, and full removals with the stump ground and the property left clean. Frontier Days runs every June and the Peach Festival every July, and we plan around the parade routes downtown like everyone else does. Free on-site estimates. Straight talk about what the tree needs and what it does not.

Weatherford Tree Service FAQs

We have an old pecan over the house near downtown. How do we know if it is safe?

A hazard assessment tells you: deadwood in the crown, cavities or conks on the trunk, soil heaving at the base, and which way the tree leans. A sound old pecan can carry on for decades with deadwood cleanup and crown thinning. One with root or trunk problems needs a real decision.

Does Weatherford require approval before tree removal?

Check with the city before anything gets cut. Weatherford has tree rules that touch construction-adjacent work, protected trees, and right-of-way situations, and they are enforced downtown and around the square. We plan every job to stay inside them.

How much does tree removal cost in Weatherford, TX?

Every tree and every site is different, so we do not quote blind. Free on-site estimate: you get the exact price in writing, no obligation, before anything gets cut.
