Serving McLendon-Chisholm, TX

McLendon-Chisholm started as two farm settlements. McLendon was named for landowner P.A. McLendon, who ran a store, a cotton gin, and a blacksmith shop there until 1975. The two merged into a city in 1969. It stayed quiet for a long time. Now SH 205 is filling in with new subdivisions. So the city has both: acreage with old shade trees, and new streets with new trees. Two kinds of tree work in one place.

On the old homesteads, it's the old trees: mature pecans and post oaks that need deadwood work and crown cleaning, and honest answers when one of them is done. Redcedar moving into the fence lines. Storm damage to big trees that can't be replaced in a lifetime. In the new subdivisions, it's the usual: Bradford pears, builder-planted live oaks in black clay, trees planted six feet from the driveway.

We work all of McLendon-Chisholm: SH 205 from Rockwall toward Terrell, the old homesteads off the highway, and the new subdivisions going up around them. Old trees, young trees, storm work: handled.

Common Tree Issues in McLendon-Chisholm, TX

🌳 Mature Pecan & Oak Care

The old shade trees on McLendon-Chisholm's homesteads took decades to get here. They deserve more than a chainsaw and a guess. We do deadwood removal, crown cleaning, and structural work that keeps big trees standing safely, and we tell you straight when a tree is past saving.

🏗️ Construction Damage in New Developments

When land gets developed, the trees that survive the clearing take the hit: graded roots, compacted soil, bark wounds from equipment. If your keepers are declining after the neighbors went up, we assess the root damage and do the recovery work that gives them a chance, or tell you honestly if it's too late.

🌪️ Storm Damage to Big Trees

Losing half a crown on a sixty-year-old pecan is different from losing a branch on a young tree. We handle the hazard first, then the careful pruning that gives the tree its best shot at recovering. And replanting advice when it doesn't have one.

McLendon-Chisholm Tree Service FAQs

Developers cleared the land next door and now my trees are dying. Can anything be done?

Sometimes. Construction kills trees through root damage: grading that cuts roots, heavy equipment compacting the soil, fill piled over the root zone. If the damage is recent and not too severe, corrective pruning, mulch, and deep watering can pull a tree back. But a tree that lost half its roots to a grader may not make it, and we'll say so. The earlier you call, the better the odds.

My pecan is sixty years old and dropping big limbs. Save it or remove it?

Depends on why the limbs are failing. Dead limbs from age and drought are normal maintenance: clean them out and the tree can go years. Structural failure in the trunk or major limbs is different. We look at the whole tree and give you a straight call: what the work costs, how many years it buys, and whether removal is the honest answer.

How much does tree removal cost in McLendon-Chisholm, TX?

It depends on the tree and the access. A front-yard ornamental is a different job than a big shade tree over a roof. Every job is different, so we give free on-site estimates: you get an exact price before any work starts, with no obligation.
