Trenton is a railroad town in southwestern Fannin County, settled in 1852 when a wagon train of families came from Tennessee and platted a townsite around the Missouri, Kansas and Texas line. The first name for the place was Wild Cat Thicket. When the post office opened in 1881, it took the name of Trenton, New Jersey, put forward by Dr. W. C. Holmes, the pioneer physician who ran the Trenton Tribune and is called the father of Trenton. About 740 people live here now. US 69 runs through the northeast side toward Denison and Greenville, and SH 121 crosses it at a diamond interchange: fifteen miles northeast to Bonham, seventeen miles southwest to Melissa.
The tree work here is farm-town work. The old neighborhoods carry yard oaks and pecans planted generations back: big established trees that mostly need deadwood cleanup and clearance, not major surgery. The farm roads outside town run fence rows thick with cedar and volunteer elms. Trenton was once one of the biggest onion shipping points in North Texas, and the fields still grow onions, cattle feed, and hay. The shelterbelt trees around the fields take wind all spring, so hazard work after storm season is steady.
We work Trenton from the highway interchange to the county roads: deadwood cleanup and clearance on the old yard trees, selective cedar clearing on fence rows and acreage, storm cleanup when the weather crosses the open ground, and full removals with the stump ground and the property left clean. Free on-site estimates. Straight talk about what the tree needs and what it does not.

Common Tree Issues in Trenton, TX
Old-Neighborhood Yard Trees
Yard oaks and pecans planted generations back, some older than the houses. Deadwood cleanup, crown thinning, and honest calls on the trees near rooflines.
Fence-Row & Shelterbelt Clearing
Cedar and volunteer elms take over fence rows and field edges. Selective clearing so the good trees get the light and the land opens back up.
Open-Ground Storm Cleanup
Spring storms cross the open farm ground around Trenton and drop limbs on houses, barns, and fences. Hazard-first cleanup, then the property left clean.

Trenton Tree Service FAQs
Our big old oak sheds limbs every storm. Is that normal?
Old oaks shed deadwood first. A crown cleaning usually takes care of it. If the trunk leans or the soil heaves at the base, that is an assessment, not a pruning job.
The cedar has closed in our fence line. Can you clear just that?
Yes. That is selective clearing: the cedar and brush go; the oaks, pecans, and anything worth keeping stay. Free on-site estimate to scope it.
How much does tree removal cost in Trenton, TX?
Every tree and every site is different, so we do not quote blind. Free on-site estimate: you get the exact price in writing, no obligation, before anything gets cut.
