Bailey began in the late 1850s, when farmers moved in for the rich soil. Cotton and corn were the crops. Two doctors wanted the town named after themselves: Josiah S. Bailey and A. J. Ray. The argument ended in 1885, when the St. Louis Southwestern Railway ran its right-of-way through land Bailey had donated. That is how the town got its name. SH 11 runs through the middle of town now: fifteen miles northwest to Whitewright, seven miles southeast to Wolfe City. SH 78 crosses it south of center, ten miles north to Bonham, six miles southwest to Leonard. About 220 people live here.
The tree work here is farm country. Old pecans line the field edges and shade the farmhouses, some of them planted when cotton was king. In town the lots carry middle-aged oaks and cedar elms that are reaching the years where structure pruning matters. The fence rows run cedar thick, and volunteer trees crowd the outbuildings. Storms cross the flat open ground fast and drop limbs on barns, fences, and drives. Blackland clay under all of it, heavy and rich, which means shallow roots and trunks that heave in wet springs.
We work Bailey from the SH 11 / SH 78 crossroads to the farm roads in every direction: deadwood cleanup on the old yard pecans, structural pruning on the in-town oaks, selective cedar clearing on fence rows and acreage, storm cleanup when weather crosses the open ground, and full removals with the stump ground and the property left clean. Free on-site estimates. Straight talk about what the tree needs and what it does not.

Common Tree Issues in Bailey, TX
Old Farm Pecans & Oaks
Pecans from Bailey's cotton days still produce on the farm lots. Crown cleaning, deadwood removal, and honest calls on the ones past saving.
Storm Cleanup on Open Ground
Storms cross the flat farm ground fast and drop limbs on barns, fences, and drives. Hazard-first cleanup, then the property left clean.
Fence-Row Cedar Clearing
Cedar keeps closing the fence rows and crowding outbuildings. Selective clearing takes the cedar and leaves the good trees.

Bailey Tree Service FAQs
Our old pecan drops limbs every storm. Is that normal?
Old pecans shed deadwood first. A crown cleaning usually takes care of it. If the trunk leans or the soil heaves at the base, that is an assessment, not a pruning job.
The cedar has closed in our fence line. Can you clear just that?
Yes. That is selective clearing: the cedar and brush go; the oaks, pecans, and anything worth keeping stay. Free on-site estimate to scope it.
How much does tree removal cost in Bailey, TX?
Every tree and every site is different, so we do not quote blind. Free on-site estimate: you get the exact price in writing, no obligation, before anything gets cut.
